Common questions
What utilities ask us first.
The questions that come up in every evaluation, answered before you have to ask them.
What do you need from our systems to get started?
Work order notifications by API or PDF, and read access to Utility GIS for circuit topology and asset context. Integration begins with file-based exchange and moves to direct API on an agreed roadmap — no enterprise re-architecture up front.
Where does DgineAI run, and who can see our data?
Inside Utility's approved cloud environment, under Utility identity controls. Customer data is never shared with external LLMs and is never used for third-party training. Federated SSO with MFA, tenant network isolation, and a full audit trail of every AI decision.
How much engineer review is still required?
All of it. Every design is reviewed and approved by the responsible design engineer before it is issued — the platform never releases work on its own. Corrections feed back to sharpen the model against Utility standards.
Which work types are automated today?
Five notification types are trained and in production: pad-mount and pole-mount equipment replacement, pole replacement, secondary changes, and service notifications. Nine more sit on the roadmap, each waiting on design-standards curation rather than re-engineering.
What happens during a pilot?
A short business alignment exercise runs a sample of your live work orders through DgineAI — roughly nine weeks from first pass to readiness checklist, and go/no-go. You finish with an architecture blueprint and a commercial proposal, before any platform commitment.
Do you only work with investor-owned utilities?
No. We work with investor-owned, municipal and public power utilities, and alongside contractors, systems integrators and technology partners as readily as direct. SVG's consulting and engineering practices are available with or without DgineAI.
